biggest and best of 2020

General post So this week as I was reading my January 2020(not a typo the digital issues are a month ahead I believe,) issue of RC Car action magazine they had a beast of a monster truck called the raminator by primal rc. I will give you an idea of scale, because obviously after seeing it I did some research on youtube and its scale is listed at 1/5 so basically a quarter scale. I will now real off the stats. LENGTH:1016MM HEIGHT: 610MM WIDTH: 813MM WHEEL BASE: 610MM  WEIGHT: 80LBS TIRE DIAMETER: 305MM RADIO SYSTEM: FLYSKY 6CH this is the interesting part it has all metal gears and servos as you would expect, but the bit that caught my attention is its got a 49cc pocket bike 2 stroke engine its running nearly a 50cc engine now even without testing one that is going ...

New one just in after a bit of a break Thunder Tiger SSK

THUNDER TIGER SSK FROM START TO FINISH We did a thunder tiger ssk a few months back from start to finish as a side project from our usual buy do up and keep this one we did a little bit like wheeler dealers style, unfortunately my budget is not as big as wheeler dealers and the profit margins are a lot lower as with RC stuff it has a ceiling price. Here is a picture of when it arrived. The first job was to get it stripped and see what was what so to speak. The first problems we noticed was the front steering arms were shot 3 of the shocks were good 1 was broken. The centre spur was in good condition as was the chassis apart from needing a good clean and some replacement parts. witit the beauty of this hobby with love and care you can get a car truck whatever rebuilt from the ground up you dont need to condemn a car to the scrapyard just a little love and care and its going again. the first thing you will notice is the engine change it was changed from a thunder ...

WPL B24 KIT part 1

Image
So here we started on our next project the military truck b24 kit version. First of all let me clear up the difference between the kit and the rtr version. The kit version has proportional steering instead of full left and full right. The kit version has a slightly bigger motor. You will need bits to complete though a esc radio gear and a battery. I am trying to see if I can get a nano lipo to fit in it. First impressions of the kit it looks very nice however instructions aren't all that so you will need to use some common sense when building it. Lovely aluminium frames. Nice cab with led's for headlights. Their are various upgrades though can't say if they will be worth it until its fully built and driven! So as you can see the chassis is put together up next is the axles drive train motors etc. Oh you will need to solder motor wires on as well.

Hpi 1/8 final strip down build. So last night I finished the hpi 1/8 monster truck with the exception of a engine as I am on the lookout for a  28 big block engine. Here is the final result. Here is before photos

HSP 1/8 PART 4 Slowly coming along. So since last Post spur gear been checked drive shaft chassis cleaned. Just the front end to do and then onto the engine as compression is slightly on low side so may need to pinch ever so slightly or get a new bigger engine as its only a .18 and I would like .28 engine! I have also checked the diffs and all fine with those, no reason why the truck shouldn't start when I have finished the restoration. I will add some lights back and front to the shell. Since the last post I have bought a acme conquistador so if I can repair .18 engine that will go in acme and then get a .28 for the hsp.

HSP Salamander 1/8 nitro monster truck.

At last we have our next project although this won't be for sale! Have been told that by the missus in no uncertain terms lol! So first job last night as it was late I took the wheels n tyres off and cleaned them. Then started on shocks got some before and after photos! More pics etc over the coming days as we rebuild it and get her up and running! Part 2 So last night cleaned up all the rear of the truck and checked the differentials all is good. So the shocks are all good and not leaking and came up nice. It is missing a rear drive shaft so will move the one from the front and make it rear wheel drive.

HPI BULLET PART 3

So having assesed the hpi bullet nitro truck. We decided it would be too uneconomical to do up and would blow our budget with no return. So we have stripped the bullet and the engine we have serviced and is for sale via our ebay account. All 2nd hand stuff and customer returns goes through our ebay account. Ebay id: 19841803. So onwards and upwards as they say a bit dissapointing but we can now look for our next project. So if snyone needs any hpi bullet parts I may have them drop me a email jamesp2812@gmail.com.
