WPL B24 KIT part 1

Image
So here we started on our next project the military truck b24 kit version. First of all let me clear up the difference between the kit and the rtr version. The kit version has proportional steering instead of full left and full right. The kit version has a slightly bigger motor. You will need bits to complete though a esc radio gear and a battery. I am trying to see if I can get a nano lipo to fit in it. First impressions of the kit it looks very nice however instructions aren't all that so you will need to use some common sense when building it. Lovely aluminium frames. Nice cab with led's for headlights. Their are various upgrades though can't say if they will be worth it until its fully built and driven! So as you can see the chassis is put together up next is the axles drive train motors etc. Oh you will need to solder motor wires on as well.

Hpi 1/8 final strip down build. So last night I finished the hpi 1/8 monster truck with the exception of a engine as I am on the lookout for a  28 big block engine. Here is the final result. Here is before photos

HSP 1/8 PART 4 Slowly coming along. So since last Post spur gear been checked drive shaft chassis cleaned. Just the front end to do and then onto the engine as compression is slightly on low side so may need to pinch ever so slightly or get a new bigger engine as its only a .18 and I would like .28 engine! I have also checked the diffs and all fine with those, no reason why the truck shouldn't start when I have finished the restoration. I will add some lights back and front to the shell. Since the last post I have bought a acme conquistador so if I can repair .18 engine that will go in acme and then get a .28 for the hsp.

At last we have our next project although this won't be for sale! Have been told that by the missus in no uncertain terms lol! So first job last night as it was late I took the wheels n tyres off and cleaned them. Then started on shocks got some before and after photos! More pics etc over the coming days as we rebuild it and get her up and running! Part 2 So last night cleaned up all the rear of the truck and checked the differentials all is good. So the shocks are all good and not leaking and came up nice. It is missing a rear drive shaft so will move the one from the front and make it rear wheel drive.

HPI BULLET PART 3

So having assesed the hpi bullet nitro truck. We decided it would be too uneconomical to do up and would blow our budget with no return. So we have stripped the bullet and the engine we have serviced and is for sale via our ebay account. All 2nd hand stuff and customer returns goes through our ebay account. Ebay id: 19841803. So onwards and upwards as they say a bit dissapointing but we can now look for our next project. So if snyone needs any hpi bullet parts I may have them drop me a email jamesp2812@gmail.com.

Hpi bullet part 2.

So yesterday finally managed to start on it. Got the engine off and the starter shaft was not engaging properly with the rest of the engine so I removed the back plate and took out the starter shaft and realised it hadn't been put back together properly! So I removed assembled correctly and lo and behold problem solved! Cleaned the engine ready to test so will test tomorrow. However pretty confident it  will work as it should as there was nothing too badly worn piston working correctly bearing OK which is good as they usually go first!
Bought a beaten up HPI bullet Here we have a challenge but a good challenge. Having paid a very cheap price for the hpi bullet! There will be a delay between posts as I await parts to arrive. So as you can see from the pic it is defo a little battered n bruised! But as we all know with this hobby with time and patience we can rebuild cars from the chassis up. The engine is present but we are unsure whether it is salvegable so I guess we will find out soon enough! The front shocks are present however we will be upgrading these to alloy ones. We will start with a full teardown later and post tomorrow on what's salvegable and what isn't.
