New one just in after a bit of a break Thunder Tiger SSK

THUNDER TIGER SSK FROM START TO FINISH

We did a thunder tiger ssk a few months back from start to finish as a side project from our usual buy do up and keep this one we did a little bit like wheeler dealers style, unfortunately my budget is not as big as wheeler dealers and the profit margins are a lot lower as with RC stuff it has a ceiling price. Here is a picture of when it arrived.

The first job was to get it stripped and see what was what so to speak. The first problems we noticed was the front steering arms were shot 3 of the shocks were good 1 was broken. The centre spur was in good condition as was the chassis apart from needing a good clean and some replacement parts.

the beauty of this hobby with love and care you can get a car truck whatever rebuilt from the ground up you dont need to condemn a car to the scrapyard just a little love and care and its going again.

the first thing you will notice is the engine change it was changed from a thunder tiger pro 15 which was shot too a sh .18 which to the best of my knowledge are made by thunder tiger.  We ended up swapping out the front end completely cost £27.99 on ebay for the front end including shocks and shock tower and the engine change and bought a new fuel tank as the old one had a hole. We cleaned everything checked everything and serviced it. Total cost of purchase including parts £65 we sold it for £79 not a massive profit but I enjoy the restoration the more broken the better in my eyes. We love a challenge here at jnzrc and we will do some tutorial blogs in the near future. Winter is nearly upon us but it doesn't mean we can't drive our models just because it is winter, the best fun I had driving in the last year was my ECX amp in the snow it was great fun. A lot of rc enthusiasts will use the winter as project season and maintenance etc which is equally as fun in my eyes. Happy RC'ING people.
